Now that the election is over, we need to get back to the really important matters in our lives like football and hate crimes. That’s what my column is about this week. I know you’re wondering how the two are intertwined. Well Alabama’s Nick Saban came to town last weekend, and when he was hanged in effigy, the door opened on the possibility of new law violations in Louisiana. Read all about it by Clicking Here.

Also, be sure and take a minute to listen to a new song on my jukebox by Mary Gauthier.  She is quite a balladeer of soulful and soulless music, and she appears in person at the Shaw Center on Friday night. I’ve been listening to her music for a number of years. And I also hope you take a few minutes each week to listen to my podcast. You really need to. It’s my therapy to be able to ramble a bit each week about what I think is important, and sometimes irrelevant. Take a listen.

    Police report
    NOVEMBER 16, 2008

Baton Rouge Police reported that an individual attempted to “egg” Coach Les Miles home last night.

    The report stated:

“An empty egg carton was recovered at the scene. Two eggs hit Coach Miles house, 3 eggs went over his house and hit his neighbor’s back door, 2 eggs hit the houses of each of his next door neighbors, and the remaining 3 eggs were found broken on the ground near the carton from where the individual threw them. Looking at what was hit, police officials say they are considering LSU quarterback Jarrett Lee as the primary suspect.”
