Graphic: Police Release Video Of Hartford Hit-And-Run

Hartford police are looking for help from the public to find the driver police said struck a 78-year-old man in Hartford on May 30. Police found Angel Torres, of Hartford, on the ground in front of 33 Park St. Friday, May 30, at approximately 5:45 p.m. Torres had suffered head injuries when he was hit by a car, police said. He was taken to Hartford Hospital, where he is in critical condition and is paralyzed from the neck down.

Here’s What’s so Chilling. Nobody seemed to care on the street. Look at the video. A number of people just stood around and did nothing. Nothing. How would you react if yo witnessed such an event? Would you go to the victim’s aid? Would you call for help? Take a look.

And I wonder if we should not have a good Samaritan law that gives immunity form a law suit to those who, in good faith, try to be of help.  Many people say they shy away from helping in certain situations because they do not want to be sued. So should we give legal protection to one who tries to help? What do you think?

You mean to tell me Louisiana dosen’t have a good Samaritan law, shame on them. Also Conn. dosen’t have one either, shame on them too.

Unfortunately, that neighborhood does not have too many caring people living in it…it seems. Last year, my friend who lives just a few blocks up from that street heard screaming at 10 pm on a summer night. She walked out into the street and found a pizza delivery man with stab wounds all over his back falling to the ground. She said there were many people in the windows and porches watching and NO ONE did anything. People were walking the streets and ignoring this poor man who had been assaulted and stabbed. When she yelled out, “Did anyone call the police?” They all said no. NO one seems to care. It is very unfortunate. Is there no one with empathy??? Very sad!
