I agree that tax subsidies are nothing short of corporate welfare and is a thorn in the side of our society. Much has to be done ir order to make us an equal people. One prime example is affirmative action, another example is allowing outsiders low interest loans to buy motels and gasoline stations.
I challenge anyone to find a motel that is American owned. Granted there are still a few remaining but the numbers are going downward. Find a Doctor who is not named Abbi Dabbi. Are we safer since Bush was elected??

While in the Senate Huey Long warned his collegues that the day would come unless the working class and poor are represented “that the people will march down the marble halls of the capital and hang a noose from the gallery and string all of the elected officials up, and Huey Long would be there to tighten the noose.” I am sure we are all aware of my paraphrasing because I am not blessed with a memory to repeat word for word the speech, however the jest of Senator Long’s speech still echos through the bayous and hills of his and my beloved Louisiana. Huey Long was and enemy or a hero for many people of Louisiana (for me a hero) and his rebel spirit continues to jump start the spirit of many of us who are aware that our political spectrum is in dire need of true heros and leaders.
There are those of us who know how it feels to work 10 to 12 hours a day only to be moved from our job so that those from outside our boundries can “sat up shop” at a low interest government loan in order to reap the bounty of our country. Many of us are tired of working day and night to send our children to get a higher education and find that our colleges are overflowing with students who can hardly speak
English. We are becoming disgruntled to see our children if they are lucky enough to get a job see them to have to leave from our beloved Louisiana. Some of us fail to trust the likes of Bobby Jindel to hold the keys to the port that opens to the main heartland of our nation.
So is it time for a third party to rise from the ashes of political decay not unlike the party Huey Long was able to forsee. I think the time is at hand and since Huey Long can’t tighten the noose then DeWayne Guice would relish the opportunity.

Let it be the Ronald Reagan Democratic Party of Louisiana. After all, Huey P. Long was a Democrat; and, really at heart Ronald Reagan was too. Reagan just realized that the Democrats in California were too liberal to ever support him for governor, so he changed to Republican, and the rest is history. He was the best president we have ever had.

Talk is good and needed but my suggestion is action. I would support a meeting and open debate on the matter of the third party. If we can all agree and form the party then we should also have our candidates seek office.
DeWayne Guice
Mr. Sam Gallo has made mention of a third party and has ignited a spark of interest in me. It seems he is involved with people who intend to get a job done and not just talk about it. Maybe this group has a willingness to become a force to be reckoned with. I have looked at the web page and it is of interest to me.

If by chance Jindel is elected to the VP seat will Landrieu be automatically our sitting Gov. since he is Lt. Gov. already or will we go through another election?
DeWayne Guice
I am yet to see Jindel as a “golden boy” of Louisiana as discribed by Mr. Parkenson. I hope he is, but I can only speak from my experiences since I am not as educated in Jindel’s past history as I should be. I do know he is a pick of George Bush and to me that is not an attribute to be proud of but more of a liability.
I also know he signed a petition to incarcerate child molesters for life in North Louisiana then back stepped on the issue so that makes him a liar which should fit well in the Republican ranks. Lets face it folks, what got Jindel elected was Katrina and we were first to place blame on Gov. Blanco because she was unable to turn a hurricane around. Perhaps McCain with the aid of Jindel will be able to accomplish the goal of keeping hurricanes off our coast. If they are then they can also repair the George Bush economy with ease and to all our satisfaction. They may be able to even find the worlds number one criminal who has eluded us by hiding in caves and behind rocks (so we are told). Lets us also be aware that they may even get gasoline back down to $2.00 per gallon. However when Clinton was in office we seemed to be able to afford a tank of gas at least once a month, remember the good old days. Where is Bill Clinton when we need him most?
Yes I support McCain and Jindel in office because I would enjoy seeing a Democrat as Governor of Louisiana and look forward to the fall out of the RNC if a Democrat returns to the Governor’s chair in Louisiana.
Landrieu will make us a great Governor and it would be interesting to see what projects he would initiate to create growth and prosperity in Louisiana. We do not know where he will stand on the ethics reform that Jindel has created but I do believe he will work to keep our beloved state on the proper road of stability.

I fail to see all politicians as bastards because I have known some good ones. they are just in a minority. For example ex State Rep. Steve Gunn who is now Mayor of Montgomery, Louisiana. Rep. Gunn who is an independent could not fit into politics as usual but faught them as hard as he could and passed a Constitutional amendment that was ratified by the people of Louisiana that calls for a vote in both chambers of the house and the signature of the governor before a fee can be placed on the good people of Louisiana. I had the pleasure of working with Rep. Gunn on this bill and testified before committee on several occasions with our primary battle being with LSU. It was an enjoyable debate but eventually LSU went to the attorney general and had themselves excluded from the law. This was done while I sat on the Democratic Executive Committee in Catahoula Parish, but by saying this I simply say there are some good politicians.
When I was a small kid riding a bicycle up and down the hills and swamps of Catahoula and Concordia Parishes I rember seeing signs that simply said “Jim Brown Cares”. The country folk would meet and ask who the hell is Jim Brown some us us even thought he was a circuit preacher. When he did appear as a valid candidate everyone in our neck of the woods who didnt know him personally knew he damn sure cared so we gonna vote for him, and our area prospered as a result till the rest of the state took him away from us. I say that to say this not all politicians are bastards and we sure could use some more Steve Gunns and Jim Browns.
I believe thay are out there but will not be found in the halls of some fancy university but maybe on a tractor in a cotton field or putting down fence post around a cow pasture. We need common sense in politicas now worse than since John McKethan was Governor. Maybe even a tater digger for president.

McCain’s falling out with Reverend John Hagee is oone more reason McCain had better choose Governor Bobby Jindal,
or he’s out of luck. No way he can win without Jindal and no way he can lose with Jindal. He needs a Catholic on the ballot with him.
This new Pope, contrary to Vatican II, doesn’t allow that Protestants are Christians; but
Protestants allow that Catholics are Christians. McCain needs that
Christian vote, especially the Evangelical Christian vote. He will
get it if Jindal is on the ticket with him, but no way he will get it without
Jindal on the ticket as the V.P. running mate. Of course, the Catholics will vote for the McCain Ticket if Jindal is the V.P. running mate! Somebody get the word to McCain before it’s too
late. Otherwise, we are going to end up with Yo Mamma Obama and the end of the United States as we know it. Obama has his roots in Islam, and that’s bad, bad, bad!

Once again, well stated, Mr. Guice! Keep up the good work!

McCain is fighting a hard battle against not only the Democrats but against his own party elite. Our government as we know it is under the watchful eye of all the world and the fact that we may have Obama as our President. the Clinton’s are learning first hand how back stabbing their own party elite can be as well. However, those of us who are rebels against the system have a lot to be excited about if John Mccain wins because the world will learn that rebels dont always come in last. John McCain who is a true American hero, if elected will put a shot in the arm of the system and the idea that actually was the founding cornerstone of our nation. We should never forget that we are a nation of rebels and of debate. America is a never ending struggle and constant experiment.
Hardy Parkerson
Again, well stated, Mr. Guice; but remember that if you want McCain to be elected,
you had better do what you can
to see that Jindal is on that
ticket with him as the V.P.
running mate; otherwise, McCain is a “dead duck” in November. Jindal is a Catholic, and McCain needs him on the ticket to draw the Catholic and Evangelical and other Christian vote. No doubt about it, Obama has the Muslim support, which is great, at least in money; and money buys elections in the United States. There is more to it all than this, but this is something to think about. s/Hardy Parkerson, Chm. – Ronald Reagan Democratic Caucus – Lake Charles
DeWayne Guice
It is true I support McCain over my beloved Democratic party because he is as close to a conservative Democrat as we have in office. At a time when national security is at such high risk I believe the American people will see McCain as the only leader to deal with the problem of Bushes lack of leadership ability. Like his father George is a money bought President. However the rebel nature of McCain is a breath of fresh air. My only personal worry is the economy and what it will be like after Bush is gone. I know a son is not responsible for a fathers sins but like his daddy George Bush has shown an inability to handle the tax payers money. for a matter of fact no Republican has ever added a stimilus to the economy and yes I remember the trickle down politics of Ronald Regan. If we care to look back farthur we can see how the past has not been much different, for example president hoover leaving our economy in a depression and FDR lifting himself from his wheelchair to lift our nation from economic failure. lets look at the economy after Bill Clinton left office and compare it to now. is it safe to say our economic situation was in much better strength than it is now? Will McCain and Jindel break the mold and lift our economy from the ashes of the Bush clan? Time will tell.

You can forget you little campaign for Jindal. McCain already decided today, that is won’t be Jindal.
So you can stop you weak little crusade.
DeWayne Guice
There is no doubt Hillary may have the experience in economics but not only are we living in dangerous economic times but we are in constant danger of future attacks on the homeland and I have believe McCain to be the better leader in times of war (which we are in now). Being a Democrat I am torn between my being true to my party or myself. I choose to put the safety of my nation above the safety of my party. One thing we can agree on here is that anything will be the present administration.. except Osama Obama.

The Republican Convention will decide who the Vice-Presidential candidate is, and, unless it is Jindal, McCain does not have a dog’s change. Yes, Jindal will be on the Republican Ticket. s/Hardy Parkerson – Lake Charles.

Here’s an important piece of advice: If it looks like it’s going to be McCain/Palin anyway (and that should be a “no brainer” for Team McCain), McCain should announce NOW or VERY SOON, rather than later towards the convention. There’s currently a growing chorus for Obama/Hillary (as VP) ticket (in fact the Dems are likely aware of the Palin phenomenon). If the GOP waits while movement for Hillary as VP grows — even worse until after it is solidified that Hillary will/could be VP pick — selecting Palin will be portrayed by Dems/liberal media more as a reaction by GOP selecting its own female (overshawdoing Palin’s own remarkable assets), rather than McCain taking the lead on this. Selecting Palin now or early (contrary to the punditocracy) will mean McCain will be seen as driving the course of this campaign overwhelmingly, and the DEMS will be seen as merely reacting. And, there’s absoultely no down-side to this because even if Hillary is a no-go as VP for Obama, the GOP gains by acting early. McCain the maverick. Palin the maverick. Do it now!
There’s no reason, and actually substantial negative, in McCain waiting to see what the Dems do first insofar as his picking Palin as VP, because, no matter who Obama picks, Palin is by far (and I mean far) the best pick for McCain and the GOP, especially in this time of GOP woes. The GOP can be seen as the party of real ‘change’ (albeit I hate that mantra, change, change, bla bla), while not really having to change from GOP core conservative values, which Palin more than represents.
In light of the current oil/energy situation, as well as the disaffected female Hillary voters situation, and growing focus on McCain’s age and health, Palin is more than perfect — now.
(Perhaps Team McCain is already on to this.)
DeWayne Guice
Thanks to everyone who helpe.
JAIL BUSH — FREE EDWARDS!!!!!
Hardy Parkerson
Dear Mr. Guice,
I do not think that we who want the President to free former Governor Edwin W. Edgards should even hint that Bush should be jailed; for it is Bush that will be the one to free our beloved former Governor of Louisiana; or McCain, in the event Bush has not done so before he leaves office. Even the Republican leaders are working right now to get President George W. Bush to sign the pardon and/or time-cut to free Edwards from Federal prison. This is just my opinion, but I think that President George W. Bush is on our side in this matter. Keep up the good work, but lay off our friend George W. Bush, who is going to be the one to sign the pardon and/or time-cut for Edwin W. Edwards. Sincerely, Hardy Parkerson – Lake Charles

DeWayne Guice
Well said Ms. Kane and I agree. I also have been made aware that our public service commissioners are fixing to get a raise.
Margret Welch
Martha name us a reform Governor in the last 50 years.
DeWayne Guice
for Martha to name a reform governor in the last 50 years has nothing to do with the future. It makes more sense to look into looking ahead and not backwards. However we need not only look for reform governors but reform minded Senators and Representatives as well as Commissioners of Insurance , Agriculture, and Public Service Commissioners. I am well satisfied with Foster Camble as my member of the PSC but with times being as the are I do not think the people should fund a pay raise of for any public servant. As for Agriculture Commissioner, where is he? Is he working to try and lobby for ethnol plants in Louisiana that are out of the range of hurricanes? Commissioner of Insurance is a joke and he is about as serous as Ronald McDonald. Jindel lied ot us and we drank his kool aid, we must remember to spit it back out at him.
Margret Welch
And your @itiching about things you know nothing about, also has nothing to do with the future.
Hardy Parkerson
Nobody’s perfect, not even Jindal. However, Jindal is the closest to perfect that we have had for a governor in a long time. He’s like Reagan: he’s really a Democrat at heart. That’s just another good reason why McCain and the Republicans need him on the ticket with McCain as the V.P. candidate. s/Hardy Parkerson
Hardy Parkerson
You had better hope McCain and the Republican Party
choose our Governor Jindal for McCain’s V.P. running
mate, if you do not want to see Obama as President.
McCain can win only with Jindal. Somebody, please
get the word to McCain that this is a fact. And, if you
can and will, contact your friends and relatives outside
of Louisiana and have them do the same, lest McCain
get the impression that this is just a Louisiana “favorite
son†campaign. Obama is too closely connected with,
and has his roots in, Islam. The Islamic world has
pledged to destroy the U.S.A., at least as we have
known it. If Obama is slected, that is the beginning of
the end of the U.S.A..
Sincerely,
Hardy Parkerson, Chm.
Ronald Reagan Democratic Caucus of Louisiana for Jindal as Vice-President
Margret Welch
Hardy, since when does a good Democrat like you, get interested in Republican candidates winning.
Just goes to show, you have no credibility.
Hardy Parkerson
There is something magic about Jindal, as everyone
loves him. Yes, he is relatively inexperienced in
government, but he will not be running for president.
Nevertheless, the one thing he is that nobody else
being considered for the Republican Vice-Presidentlal
slot is, is a Catholic. The American people are not going
to vote for a Mormon. That hullabaloo–even though
the State of Texas was wrong in what it did–is enough
to show how whacky the Mormon Religions is. Further,
even though some Catholics may not consider Protestants
Christians, most Protestants consider Catholics
Christians–which the obviously are–and neither McCain
nor Obama is going to win without the Christian vote;
and Christians include a lot more than Catholics and
Baptists; included in their ranks are Methodists, Presby-
terians, Episcopalians, Assemblies of God, Pentecostals,
Word of Faiths, Word of Hopes, Word of…you name it! And
McCain has his Anti-Christian baggage, but Jindal can
help him overcome that. Many Christians would not
vote for McCain because of that baggage; but with the
Jindal on the ballot with him, they will cast their votes
for Jindal; and it all has the same effect. So if you do
not want to see Obama as our next President, get
your friends and family, in and out of Louisiana, organized
to contact McCain and the Republican Leadership
and urge them to choose our own Governor Bobby
Jindall as McCain’s Vice-Presidential running mate.
Sincerely,
Hardy Parkerson, Chm.
Ronald Reagan Democratic Caucus of Louisiana for Jindal for Vice-President
Margret Welch
I suppose there will never be anyone from the Assembly of God church either. Jimmy Carter was the last time this country will have elected a
“holi roller”. With their better than thou attitude.
I would vote for a Mormon or a Jew, before I vote for a hypicrital “holi roller”.
Hardy Parkerson
I did not say that there would ever be a Member of the Assemblies of God church run for President; all I said was that Members of the Assemblies of God would vote for the Republican Ticket if Jindal, a Catholic Christian, were on the ballot with McCain as McCain’s running mate. As I see it, when one considers the Christion Religion, once he or she gets the clergy out of the way, there is not a dime’s worth of difference between any of them. Once you get the clergy out of the picture, all of these Christian “denominations”, including the Catholic, are just a buch of honest, decent people seeking God and His direction.
DeWayne Guice
Once while in a political rally in North Louisiana I observed members of the Nation Of Islam within the group. I later had the opportunity to talk to several of the group and asked what the future agenda was for their cause. I was astonished and slightly amused when the told me that their goal was to get enough Muslims in America to elect a Muslim President. I say now I am no longer amused. I personally denounce my own party who now supports a candidate with strong Muslim ties while we are in a holy war with Muslim extremist. We as Americans have become to confident in our government and believe we can not be touched by any group or nation willing to do us harm. Too soon se forget Pearl Harbor and the twin towers of 9-11. I am frightened to know what our future may hold should Obama be elected yet he will probably receive 85 to 95 percent of the black vote because he is black and the African American population is desperate for black leadership. he will also receive majority of the ultra liberals because of Democrate leaders who have voiced their support for him.
Our beloved country as we know it is in major trouble and if Obama is elected we are poised to turn our backs on the God our founding fathers ands mothers depended on. We need not argue over whos religion is better but yet we should unite and get on our knees and seek the almighty’s help to heal our nation.
Margret Welch
Members of the Assemblies of God church won’t vote for Jindal.
His skin is to dark. How many black or dark skin people are members of your church?
Governor Bobby Jindal will be occuping the Louisiana Governor’s mansion for at least three more years.
Bobby Jindal adds nothing to the McCain ticket. The restof the country will not buy Bobby Jindal at this time.

or he’s out of luck.
Sincerely,
Hardy Parkerson, Chm.

Once again, well stated, Mr. Guice! Keep up the good work!
s/Hardy Parkerson – Lake Charles
John McCain is total idiot.
Tell us why you think so, Ms. Welch.

Ms. Welch please enlighten us to your reasoning on McCain so we can all be made aware.
You can forget you little campaign for Jindal. McCain already decided today, that is won’t be Jindal.
So you can stop you weak little crusade.
Does anyone know of a way I can get in contact with Gov. edwin Edwards? does he have an email or can a person visit him? My private email is guicepi@bellsouth.net

Thanks to everyone who helpe.
JAIL BUSH — FREE EDWARDS!!!!!
Dear Mr. Guice,
I do not think that we who want the President to free former Governor Edwin W.
Can’t say I blame you;
just having fun! Of
course, the owner of the
railroads have no control
over what the graffiti
artists paint on the sides of the trains. Nevertheless, for the “stump”! s/Hardy P.
Yes, I said it. But stupid me! And yes, it’s the “owners” of the railroads I was referring to. As I say, one day I’ll learn to proof-read, and how to do it. Once again, sorry! s/Hardy Parkerson
Well said Ms. Kane and I agree. I also have been made aware that our public service commissioners are fixing to get a raise.
Martha name us a reform Governor in the last 50 years.
for Martha to name a reform governor in the last 50 years has nothing to do with the future.
And your @itiching about things you know nothing about, also has nothing to do with the future.

Ronald Reagan Democratic Caucus of Louisiana for Jindal as Vice-President
Hardy, since when does a good Democrat like you, get interested in Republican candidates winning.
Just goes to show, you have no credibility.
There is something magic about Jindal, as everyone
loves him. Yes, he is relatively inexperienced in
government, but he will not be running for president.
Nevertheless, the one thing he is that nobody else
being considered for the Republican Vice-Presidentlal
slot is, is a Catholic. The American people are not going
to vote for a Mormon. That hullabaloo–even though
the State of Texas was wrong in what it did–is enough
to show how whacky the Mormon Religions is. Further,
even though some Catholics may not consider Protestants
Christians, most Protestants consider Catholics
Christians–which the obviously are–and neither McCain
nor Obama is going to win without the Christian vote;
and Christians include a lot more than Catholics and
Baptists; included in their ranks are Methodists, Presby-
terians, Episcopalians, Assemblies of God, Pentecostals,
Word of Faiths, Word of Hopes, Word of…you name it! And
McCain has his Anti-Christian baggage, but Jindal can
help him overcome that.

I suppose there will never be anyone from the Assembly of God church either. Jimmy Carter was the last time this country will have elected a
“holi roller”. With their better than thou attitude.
I would vote for a Mormon or a Jew, before I vote for a hypicrital “holi roller”.
