While wiping the sweat off his face a 60-year old construction worker in Ohio whose hands were blistered and had an aching back, was ask by Campbell Brown of CNN about Barack Obama and his bid to be President.

The construction worker said ‘You know Obama didn’t get to where he is today by himself. Obama doesn’t belong in this presidential race , he has only served 144 days in the
U S Senate, and has not achieved anything while there.

Makes you wonder how many corrupt Chicago Democrats and Union Thugs it took to get him there. And how much of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae money to keep him up there.

The fall out of the financial crisis facing us as a people should be recognized not as something that has slipped into our system overnight but as a festering sore that has grown to such cancer that if it can’t be treated, may be malignant in the long run to our future and the future of our children. However the question remains on how it can be treated so that we as a nation and people can become healthy?
I fail to agree that our current economic crisis is of global magnitude but am inclined to believe that our problem is situated right here at home by a failed economic policy that has been in place for years and by an administration that has little if no regard for warnings that would have saved the taxpayers billions of dollars. In our search for responsibility we should note that the Bush family has had power within the ranks of the Republican party, as well as the people for decades. The Bush family over some four generations have been tied to domestic and international politics that conjoined finance, national security, and oil. Too few Americans realize how much a stamp the Bush family has put on the Republican party. Between 1980 and 2004, there was only one national election in 1996 in which George H.W. Bush or his son little George was not the Republican presidential or vice presidential candidate. I fail to see this as coincidence but rather view it as pressures by the Bush alliance within the ranks of the Conservative deal makers and their inexhaustible glut for power on the world oil market. One might also compare the markets in those years of the Bush cycle vs. when a member of the Bush dynasty was not in power.
On November 7, 2006, the U.S. electorate handed both houses of Congress to the opposition Democratic party in what was widely interpreted as a repudiation of the administration of George W. Bush, not as just a victory for Democratic party. With these actions, the American voters finally began to catch up with the negative perceptions of U.S. leaders and policies held by voters almost everywhere in the world. While many of us may question if we are better off with the Democratic leadership in Congress we should also take note that just three days before the election several influential foreign newspapers- Britain’s GUARDIAN, Canada’s TORONTO STAR, and Mexico’s REFORMA published a joint survey showing large numbers of British, Canadian and Mexican samplings ranked George W. Bush second only to Osama bin Laden as a danger to world peace. This in comparison to the “axis of evil” like North Korea’s Kim Jong and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Solid majorities also believed that since 2001 the U.S. policy had made the world less safe.
If these comparisons are noted we can only look forward to who ever takes over the White House at least it won’t be a member of the Bush family. I fail to see any comparison to either of the candidates for President to the likes of the Bush family. While I do not support Obama, I can be for certain that he will not be influenced by any of the Bush clan and McCain being the maverick he is well noted to be will make stands for what he sees as the best avenue for growth and honor in America. I truly welcome the day when George Bush and his family again walk away from the White House.

Splitting from the Union is a novel idea to say the least. Perhaps if this were to happen we as a state could gain more control of our resources in both the pros anc cons of being our own government not affliated with other states or even the federal government. We as a seperate body of government with smaller territory would be much better at attending to our own fiscal responcibility.
There may still be ways of splitting from out of state influence if we were to only use our imigination. For example we only need to look back as far as Katrina and the influence of insurance companies on our economic well being to understand how out of state interest could care less for the perils of the people of Louisiana. Would it be possible for us as a state to use the Insurance Commissioners office to create a fund for the people to keep our money here at home and handling our own problems with our own funds that we have set aside. I do not know if it were to be legal but we could as a state create a pool of funds gained from revenues gained from sin taxes or taxes such as the one Foster Cambell has debated that would tax oil pipe lines that come through Louisiana from out of state, hense releave the burden on the tax payer. After the pool has been created we could pay premiums to the pool just as we would insurance premiums and draw from this pool in the event of disaster such as Katrina. Just a thought but I do like the idea of being seperate as much as possible from outside influence.

  4. Mr. Choupique

What Resources? Majority of the oil drilling is way out of Louisiana territorial waters.

And its the Federal government that issues the leases. Other than that, there is not much more resources Louisiana can count to feed and support the 4 million people that
    presently live in this state.

Picture the whole state looking like North and Central Louisiana.

  5. DeWayne Guice

What resouces?? Hmmm, how about access to the center of the nation through the mouth of the mighty Mississippi which in fact dumps into the gulf within the borders of Louisiana. I bet Washington would pay big dollars to continue to use this resource. Anyway its just a thought but I do believe we need to insure ourselves if it is possible.
The whole state looking like North and Central Louisiana?? The reson North and Central face the perils it does is because of the political deal makers we elect to office and then nevedr remove them. Hopefully when the next election comes we will rember the pay raise issue and punish any Reps that tried to increase their pay at the tax payers expense.
For example look at Rep. Noble Ellington who was first elected to the house then to the senate and now back to the house. It is time for him to move on and get his nose out of the bucket but we in North Louisiana keep electing him so I guess we get what we pay for.

  6. Mr. Choupique

    Louisiana don’t own the Mississippi.

What the other states put a toll on every road going in and out of Louisiana.

What if the U. S. and other states decide to put a tarriff on all products going in and out of Louisiana.

What the U. S. make Louisiana repay them for all infurstructure
of Interstate highways, bridges, airports. Where is Louisiana going to get money to pay Social Security, Welfare. Food Stamps, MediAid and MediCare. Who is going to aid the people of the Louisiana after a Hurricane or other natural disasters.

Try being cut off from the National Crime and Information Center. Try banking with a bank that is not insuranced thru F D I C.

Secession is not a way way street. Secession would be like a toothless red neck couple in Concordia getting a divorse and fight over who going to get a forty year mobile home. It would be in courts for decades. And would never take place in yours or your children’s lifetime.

Besides the voters of Louisiana would have to approve this measure.

    Ain’t never going to happen.

  7. DeWayne Guice

Mr Choupique your probably right..we tried it once time and the Yankess got all mad and started a war. Toothless rednecks in Concordia?? I see a real mind is at work with you dear friend, so why don’t you tell me your thoughts on Louisiana forming its on Insurance for our people, or do you consider the people north of Bunkie part of Louisiana?

  8. Mr. Choupique

When the citizens of this country can’t agree on the Bail-Out bill.

You think there is going to be an agreement to allow Louisiana or any state to secess. Congress will not allow it, they want that tax revenue in the U.S. Treasury. Yeah right!

    But keep on dreaming.

  9. DeWayne Guice

As I said my friend you are probably right, but you still fail to comment on the idea (or perhaps dream) of the State creating an insurance pool for the people of Louisiana. Is that a dream too or can it be accomplished. Maybe Jim could help us out on this one.

Nice hearing from you again, Dr. House. Where have you been spending your time lately? s/Your Friend in Mer Rouge

  11. Mr. Choupique

Was this the same Hardy Parkerson that supported Steve Streete the loser for District Attorney in Calcauieu Parish ?

  12. DeWayne Guice

I figure Jindal is counting on a Mccain lose so the door will be open in four years after obama makes a bigger mess out of what we have. What he doesnt count on is Palin making the spotlight in the republican ranks

  13. DeWayne Guice

Mr. Choupique someone must have forgot to tell you that Bobby Jindal is the presidential want to be, I am sorry you were left out on the “big” secret. Thank you for bringing to light of the Dems. putting out the big money also. This only proves my earlier point that there is not that much difference in the two parties. If you have facts please post them to allow even more proof that the two parties are out of touch with the people as I hav e stated time and time again. I appreciate your help.

  14. Mr. Choupique

Mr. Guice someone must have forgot to tell you that Barack Obama is the presidential want to be, I am sorry you were left out on the “big” secret.

  15. DeWayne Guice

Obama wanting to be President is no secret. We are all aware of his intentions but rest assured that Jindal is already working to gain support for his Presidential run for the next Presidential race. It is true he is stumping for McCain right now but that is because of party affiliation, but in his political mind he doesn’t want a McCain victory because he wants an open field in the Republican party for the NEXT presidential race and his crony Republicans who support him feel the same way. There will be no tears in the old style GOP if McCain looses this election.

  16. Mr. Choupique

Guice, I be you knew four years ago that your friend Barack Obama, was going to run for president. And bet you even joined ACORN to help register people to vote for him. Down let chads hung.

  17. DeWayne Guice

Mr.Choupique apparently you are not informed as to me. I have, and always will be a McCain supporter dispite my parties candidate (yes I am a Democrat). I also stand strong behind his decision on his vice presidential candidate. If you take the time to look down the post you will be able to see. However I do not support Jindal and this is no “secret”. I see Jindal as an opportunist who got blown into office by Katrina. You and I are on the same page as far as the presidential candidate ( I think you may be a McCain supporter). In response to ACORN the only acorns I am concerned with is if I can find an acorn tree so my Catahoula Curr can pick up the scent of a hog while I am on a Hog hunt which is my favorite pass time, other than responding to you.

  18. DeWayne Guice

Jim I think your music picks are fantastic. It was the first time I heard Eric Clapton play Danny Boy and its great. Thanks!

I need some help!. Somebody told me that Governor Bobby Jindal is having a fund-raiser in Florida and that a person can be a participant in the round-table discussion that he will have there for a contribution of only $25,000.00. What I need to know is when that fundraiser in Florida is to be held, and to whom I need to talk in order that I might buy a ticket to that event; as I want to be a part of that round-table discussion led by a person who may very well be a future president of the United States. If you have any information concerning this matter, I wish you would call me collect and pass that information on to me; or you may just have the person or persons heading up this fund-raiser for Governor Jindal to call me at (337) 478-4370. I definitely want to buy a ticket and be a part of that panel discussion with the governor.

    Hardy Parkerson – 16 October 2008 09:49 PM
    I’d probably
vote for him … if I were satisfied that he is not
a foreign Islamic “plant” to destroy the
United States as we have always known it.

    Why do you suspect that?

I am not saying I “suspect” that to be the case,
only that I fear the possibility that that “might”
be the case. First of all, as I have said, more
than once in this thread, Obama surely does
have his roots in Islam. That he even was born
in the United States has not been proven; and, yet,
Obama, refuses to produce a brith certificate to
prove that he is a Native American, or that he
    even possesses the required Constitutional
qualificaton(s) to be president. There is a federal
law suit pending, I believe in Pennsylvania, to
attempt to force Obama and/or the DNC to
produce his birth certificate and/or other proof
to justify his legal qualification to run for the
office of President; but, I understand that the
DNC, if not Obama himself, has contested that
suit and is doing all it can to keep this matter
from being adjudicated in federal court prior
to the election. Also, another thing that makes
me wonder about who’s really behind his candidacy,
is that he’s just an ordinary “Joe Blow” black
Chicagoan; at least until just recently, when he
made it known that he was going to run for
president. Yet, as inexperienced and he was,
and with all the negatives and unanswered
questions about him and his candidacy and
    qualifications being apparent (Ayers,
Rev. Jeremiah Wright, etc.), he was able to
raise millions and millions of dollars to beat
even Senator Hillary Clinton for the nomin-
ation. I’ve run for office, and I know that
people don’t rush forward to give money
to an “underdog”. Nevertheless, from the
very start of his run for the presidency, he
has had millions and millions of dollars to
spend on his campaign. Republicans candidates
    always outspend Democratic candidatess, but
not this time. Well, I just fear, and I am
pretty much inclined to say, “I suspect”, that
much of Obama’s money he is using to “buy”
the presidency from a first-class United States
War Hero and long-time member of the U.S.
Senate, is coming from Jihadic and/or Muslim
    interests and/or multi-millionaires overseas–
the same Islamists who have run the price of
gasoline so high here in the United States–as
well as such Jihadists and/or Muslims who
seem to have pretty much bought up all the
    gasoline service stations and convenience
stores–and maybe even, motels–in the United
States. And, finally, we know that it was
Jihadist Mulsims who pulled of 9-11–worse
than Pearl Harbor, I believe–not a bunch of
Christians and Jews. Again, Obama’s being
so inexperienced, and his having his roots in
    Islam–he even attended an Islamic
school early in his educational career–and
his supposedly being from such humble stock,
and yet his having millions and millions to
spend on a campaign to take over the White
House all make be, not “believe”, or even
“suspect”, but “fear” that that the Jihad
and/or Muslim world are–or even “might
be”– financing his campaign, and that they
are or “might be” have been for recent
years grooming him to take over the White
House; but all of that makes me “fear” that
it might be so; and, for that reason, I do not
think the United States can take the chance
on this “unknown” quantity and puttiing him
in the White House; at least until he has
done something to convince us that he is
indeed qualified to be President and Comman-
der-in-Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.
As I size the matter up, as his qualifications
stand right now, Obama could not pass even
the “security clearance” check to be commissioned
even as a Second Lieutenant in the Louisiana
Army National Guard, much less any higher
ranking officer of any of the Armed Forces
of the U.S.; yet, somebody is pushing him to be
Commander-in-Chief. I say that we should
ask him to at least serve out his first full term
in the United States Senate and prove
himself and his qualifications to us, and answer
the many questions about him and his
qualifications; and then, sure, we can elect the
first non-White President of the United States.
As one great Louisiana politician and guber-
natorial candidate was wont to say, “There is
more to it all than this, but this is something
    to think about. (Humor intended!)

    Sincerely,

    Hardy Parkerson

Michael Powell son of racist hypocrite and former Secretary of State Colin Powell, has endorsed John McCain.

Michael was appointed to the Federal Communications Commission by President Bill Clinton on November 3rd, 1997. President George W. Bush designated him chairman of the commission on January 22, 2001. Powell is the son of former Secretary of State Colin Powell and Alma Powell.

It might make for an interesting family Thanksgiving Dinner.

McCain made a wise choice in the person of
Sarah Palin. At first I advised him to take
Governor Jindal as his running mate, because
Jindal is a Catholic. I did not even know about
Palin. Once she was appointed, I learned that
she is also a Catholic, according to Vatican II.
She’s got my vote and the votes of millions of
    other Catholics, Protestant and Roman.

This is an e-mail from BGen James Cash, USAF, who has written some very good articles on the subject. Here he recommends someone else’s e-mail that impressed him, and scared him.

    General Cash Wrote:

Occasionally, I receive an email that I agree with so totally I want to pass to everyone on my list. This is one of those emails. I have approval from the writer to forward the attached, and feel free to post it on your websites, or forward to friends. The election of Obama as President of the United States will mark the apex, and beginning downslide, of this Republic. The only question is the rate at which the downfall will occur.

The writer of this essay is Jerry Molen. Jerry is a great friend and an Academy Award winning Hollywood Producer. He did Jurassic Park , Hook, Rainman, and many more class movies. He won he Academy Award for Schindler’s List. Jerry is one of the very few clear thinking conservatives that I know from Hollywood . We need to get this out to as many as possible to include liberal Democrats. We are about to make the Mother-of-All-Mistakes, because the Republican Party gave us no reliable alternative. In my opinion, if the conservative movement does not rally behind the only alternative left to us, this country will become a true Socialist State within the next two Presidential terms. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the most grave situation this nation has faced in my lifetime.

    Jim Cash B/G, USAF, Ret.

    Jerry Molen wrote:

    ‘Election woes defined by prose…’

We just experienced an overhyped, positively outrageous primary election season that has left me cold and wondering where the heads of our citizens are hiding out. Must be someplace where the sun doesn’t get to very often.

At one time in my life, I was a determined, dedicated, and ever-loyal registered Democrat. Then something happened (Lyndon Baines Johnson) that turned my life around and gave me much pause as to the veracity of a party that dwelt on and fed off of the most unfortunate among us. Some of those unfortunates were in their positions in life by way of their own choosing and others were there by circumstance. But always, always with a door open to them to reach for new heights, achieve new goals, change their lives for the better. And also, always ever present were the bottom feeders doing everything they could to take advantage of those who had not or have not seen the light of better days and times, nor realizing they were in fact the masters of their own destiny. They had come to believe that they were dependent on those in power in Washington and that they would look out for them and take care of their every need. They are still waiting and expecting all those promised freebies.

Most people aren’t even aware that the Democrats ruled Washington for over 40 years. It wasn’t until 1994 when the so-called Gingrich Revolution changed that for a short period of time. Nor do people realize that it was the Dem’s that created the failed policies of the many entitlement programs that are falling apart right before our eyes. Please do not think I find the Republicans blameless in all this. They, too, suffer from ego inflation and greed motivators built into the system. It’s just that the past few months I’ve listened to the rantings and railings of the left in America calling for more giveaways and better ways to obtain the proverbial ‘free lunch’.

I think that to sum up my feelings and why I am so set apart from those within the circles of political power and influence can be illustrated best by a quote by noted basketball legend and talk show co-host Charles Barkley:

‘Poor people have been voting for Democrats for the last fifty years … and they are still poor.’

And now with the election results comes the promises of ‘change’. ‘Change we can believe in.’ ‘Change for the future.’ When in fact if you really, I mean REALLY listen to what the new messiah is asking for, is not ‘change of policy’ or ‘change for the better’. He is warning all of us that he wants our change all right, ‘loose change’, pocket change’, social change, and political change. So people, wake up. For if you don’t, the change you get may not be the change you were expecting or the change you wanted.

To close my screed, I want to leave you with some JM predictions in the event the junior Senator from Illinois becomes President and especially if the House and Senate are veto proof.

1). Strict new gun laws will be enacted even though he promised he would not.

2). The phrase ‘In God We Trust’ will be removed from all currency.

3). He will back away from his pledge to Israel and leave them to the wolves of Islam.

4). Hillary Clinton will be named to the Supreme Court.

5). Tax rates will return to their highest levels in 30 years.

6). The capital gains tax will be at least double current levels.

7). Retired Army General Wesley Clark will be named Secretary of Defense. This is the General who was fired for ‘integrity’ issues.

8). The borders will be ‘basically open’ to all comers … especially those from the Middle East and South America .

9). Amnesty will be granted to all illegals now in the U.S. regardless of status or even gang members (MS-13).

10). The war in Iraq will be brought to an abrupt end and the results will be tragic and the consequences to our military will be devastating.

I realize that my predictions may not sit too well with some people and the best we could all hope for….

PLEASE VOTE AGAINST ALL OF THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE LOUISIANA CONSTITUTION OF 1974 ON NOVEMBER 4!

Yes, please do! Twice within the last few minutes I have written and attempted to post on the “Graffiti Wall” section of Jimbrownla.com a short essay as to why we all should vote against all of the proposed constitutional amendments to the Louisiana Constitution of 1974 that are being called to vote on on November 4; but each time, before I get it posted, somehow it gets wiped out by the computer–either at my office, or at the office of Jimbrownla.com. Yes, computers play strange tricks on me too!

Basically those attemped messages stated that if all these many proposed amendments to the Louisianba Constitution of 1974 are necessary for the good and well-being of the State of Louisiana and its citizens, the let the Louisiana Legislature call a constitutional comvention and let’s adopt a new Louisiana constitution. Since our present Louisiana Constitution of 1974 was adopted, we have been called upon to vote on hundreds of proposed constitutional amendments–many several pages long–and over two-hundred-fifty of them have passed; so that now we have one of the longest–if not the longest–constitutions in the United States. One of the tenets of Conservatism, as well–as one of the marks of a true Conservative–is that laws should be very stable and changed only sparingly and only in the most exigent of circumstances. For example, the United States Constitution, originally adopted in 1789, has been amended only twenty-seven (27) times in over two hundred (200)years. So please consider this and vote against all of the proposed amendments we are being called to vote on on November 4; and please pass the word to your friends, neighbors and/or relatives–as well as to the editors of your local newspapers–to do likewise! There is more to it all than this, but this is something to think about.

  25. I think she will keep the heat on both candidates DeWayne.
McCain was born in Panama. But does any of this make any difference?

  26. DeWayne Guice

Yes it does make a difference Jim. If the candidates and future President does not abide by the Constitution how can it be applied to the people? If we no longer are under the laws of the set by Constitution then why do we have a Supreme court? Is our Constitution simply an out dated historic document and if so what sets us apart from the other nations in regards to socialism. You are an attorney Jim and I would very much like to see your comments as well as hear comments on this matter on CNN.

    If I work real hard
    And have a little luck,
    I might become a bard
    Writin’ ‘bout Starbucks.

    Seems all those beautiful gals
    Have gone to Starbucks, Slick;
So I gotta get over there, pal,
    And find me a chick.

    Those Starbucks gals
    Look like a bunch of movie stars;
But it’s I in my old truck
And they in their fancy cars.

    But I’ve found out somethin’
    ‘Bout a truck I didn’t know:
It’s if you have a truck,
It’s with you they wanta go.

    Somethin’ ‘bout a truck
    That makes a Starbucks honey
Wanta climb up in that cab
And help you spend your money.

Jim wasn’t McCain born on a military base in Panama which is in fact considered validated soil of the United States and wasn’t his parents American citizens and his father serving in the military? How did obama’s family serve America?

‘Twas The Night Before The Elections

    ‘Twas the night before elections
    And all through the town
    Tempers were flaring
    Emotions all up and down!

    I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
    Had cut off the TV
    Tired of political crap.

    When all of a sudden
    There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
    Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet
    They wanted my pay
    To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!

    He snatched up my money
    And quick as a wink
    Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink

    He then rallied his henchmen
    Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
    To tear my country apart!

    “ On Fannie, on Freddie,
    On Biden and Ayers!
    On Acorn, On Pelosi”
    He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn’t stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think
    On this one final note-
    IF YOU DON’T WANT SOCIALISM
    GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

If the Democrates would be able to elect the President by popular vote then the majority rules if the Dems were the Majority. The electorial college was who put George Bush in power and thus we got the best President money could buy. By popular vote the people elect the person most associated with masses and this is not a bad thing. Ignorance is to allow the peoples wishes to be ignored.

  32. Mr. Chouique

Every President is the best money can buy. Look at John F. Kennedy. Now Barack Obama is spending $600,000,000.00 to buy the office.

Have we ever elected a poor man to the office or one with access to lots of money?
