Jim Brown has been a fixture on the national and international speaking circuit for the past twenty years. Few have the political background and know as much of Louisiana politics. His presentations are humorous, inspiring and a real learning experience, and there are few civic clubs and chamber groups in Louisiana that have not had Jim as a speaker.
He also regularly speaks to business groups on a variety of financial and insurance related issues. Whether it’s a speech of a technical nature on international reinsurance to groups in London and Lake Tahoe, or more general views on government regulation and politics, Jim’s varied remarks are in demand.
During the 1980s, Jim served as president of the National Association of Secretaries of State, and worked to streamline business regulatory laws worldwide. He was one of the first state officials asked to travel to China in 1982 to assist in U.S. trade development opportunities.
During the 1990s, while serving as Louisiana Insurance Commissioner, Jim regularly traveled throughout Europe, serving as the American voice in raising standards for European Insurance Companies who wanted to do business in the United States. When Lloyds of London experienced financial difficulty in the mid 1990s, British Publications credited Jim Brown with being the driving force in the U. S. to work out agreeable solutions that would save the world’s largest insurance group, and still protect American policy holders.
Jim is available to speak to business and civic groups both in the U.S. and abroad. He can be contacted at jb@jimbrownla.com, or at the following:
