Civic Leader Gerry Lane!

Automobile Dealer and business magnate Gerry Lane reached the pinnacle of success in the South by building one of the largest automobile dealerships in the country.  He began from humble beginnings in the dustbowl of Oklahoma, and then went to California where he learned how to sell cars. And boy could he sell those vehicles.  At the end of his career, his business had produced over $10 Billion in sales.  He was truly an American Success story.  I say “was,” because Gerry died this week.  He fought cancer for more than 20 years, and it finally caught up with him.  My company, The Lisburn Press, recently published a best selling book on his life.  He donated more than $30 million to civic endeavors, and was one of the most respected guys around.  We will all miss Gerry Lane.
