My Retriring Friend-Marcia Ball.

I have always been a fan of my longtime friend, Marcia Ball.  For many years, she has been the queen of bayou barrelhouse blues, but she  has  announced her retirement from touring and performing. Marcia was recently diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) after having recent troubles with singing and playing. The Grammy Award-nominated artist will receive ongoing treatment but she pledges to continue supporting performers and the music community. She s a Louisiana gal, raised in Vinton LA; her music is a cross between Texas blues, New Orleans jazz and Cajun swamp rock. We all should wish you every success in getting over this disease.
