Many of you readers are too young to remember the massacre that took place in the Vietnam war and an isolated location called My Lai. It was some 33 years ago, and hundreds of innocent Vietnamese were slaughtered by US troops. It was certainly one of the low points in American military history. More innocents would’ve been slaughtered if it were not for a Louisiana helicopter pilot named Hugh Thompson. History shown him to be a real American hero, and he was f rom Lafayette, Louisiana.
