There has been a lot of talk about reform in the criminal justice system. Hey, I’m not soft on crime. If you’re guilty, then you should be punished. Sometimes severely punished when a life is taken. But prosecutors can make mistakes or purposely hide evidence that can show that an accused is innocent.  That’s particularly the case here in my home state of Louisiana. Yes, there are some really first-rate prosecutors. But we’ve had our share of bad apples. Take a look at this week’s column, where I give one example of previous prosecutorial misconduct here in the Bayou State.  The prosecutors through this and other stark examples of misconduct should be severely punished.
