Absentee voting is just beginning here in Louisiana with statewide election day just a few weeks off. As I’ve written before, there are only two major statewide races on the ballot. There’s a real horse race for governor, and the question is can current incumbent John Bel Edwards win in the first primary. But the second race of interest is that for Insurance commissioner. Long time incumbent Jim Donlon is getting a run for his money, and it looks like challenger Tim Temple is on the verge of real upset. I talk about it in this week’s column.
