Comparing Austin Texas and Baton Rouge is almost like comparing apples and oranges. Yes, at one time, both towns were lazy, easy-going southern cities. But no more. Austin shot a head like a rocket. Baton Rouge is still slowly growing. The University of Texas is one of the best funded schools in the country. LSU is struggling. What happened? Why the big differences?
