The current scandal in the Catholic Church involving pedophile priests seems to have hit all parts of our country. You might be interested to know that the first priest criminally charged in the US was from Lafayette Louisiana. It created quite a disgrace at the time, but then the shame seemed to have been swept quietly under the floor of the church. Not any more.
