It was called the Race from Hell, and was probably the most observed gubernatorial election in the history of United States. 26 years ago this week, former Louisiana Gov. Edwin Edwards and David Duke squared off in a runoff election to determine who would be the next governor. Duke was head of the Ku Klux Klan across the country, and a huge controversial figure.
