There is a big debate going on down in Louisiana, as well as other states in the country, about a requirement that all motorcycle enthusiasts must wear a helmet when they’re on a bike. Those who oppose wearing helmets carry the banner of “freedom of choice.” But just what does this mean? Freedom of choice for who? Are there losers as well as winners when you don’t wear a motorcycle helmet? You’re darn right. Check out my column where I put this whole problem and into perspective.
