If you live down our way in Louisiana, one of our favorite events is the annual strawberry festival located in the southeastern town of Hammond. There is always a poster painted to commemorate this event. This year’s poster, pictured above, is by artist Kalle Siekkinen, and has become a lightning rod of controversy. Some folks are saying that the image is derogatory to African Americans. I don’t agree, and I like the poster, and see it as a simple somewhat abstract image of two kids having fun.
