Can you name the song that just could be the most well known tune throughout the world? I have heard it played and sung in many different countries. And can you believe, it was written by a former Louisiana Governor? That’s right-Governor Jimmie Davis. He took office 60 years ago this week. He was a homegrown redneck from North Louisiana (like me) who started out as a hillbilly singer. Many hits later, and after a number of movies were  under his belt, he was elected governor twice. I have some fond memories of this charismatic and colorful Louisianan.  Governor Davis sings his hit song below.
