As the weekend rolls around, it’s “Common Sense” Radio Time this Sunday. And we sure have a lively show for our listeners cast to coast as well as this listening all over the world. Remember that some 15% of our listeners come from outside the United States, and we welcome them. The Carnival cruise ship Triumph languished in the Gulf of Mexico for days, and certainly inconvenienced a large number of passengers. But was it really such a major story? A lot of important things were happening worldwide and we will talk about them.
Kevin Cullen, author of WHITEY BULGER: America’s Most Wanted Gangster and the Manhunt That Brought Him to Justice, will join us for the first hour to talk about national manhunt the one on for 20 years. Bulger was a major public enemy that, amazingly, had the FBI on his side. You be stunned by the story. Find out about this new book by Clicking Here.
Then we take a look at Pope Benedict’s pending resignation, and the future of the Catholic Church. Father Emmett Coyne will be our guest, who’s written a book about too much fear in the Catholic Church. The book is called “TheTheology of Fear,” and you can read more about it by Clicking Here.
And Finally, Dr. Michael W. Wagner will come on the show to discuss the red-blue split within America today. Is the United States a bitterly divided country, split along harsh partisan political lines, or are we a nation composed mostly of moderates trapped between the extremists yelling from either end of the ideological spectrum? Wagner and colleagues Edward G. Carmines from Indiana University and Michael J. Ensley from Kent State University will explore these questions in their forthcoming book, “Beyond the Left-Right Divide: How the Multidimensional Character of Mass Policy Preferences Affects American Politics,” to be published later this year.
