Shreveport, LA ““ My brother, Jack Raymond Brown passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 2, 2012, after a lengthy illness. A graveside service will be held at Forest Park Cemetery East on St. Vincent Avenue on Wednesday, December 5, at 1:00 P.M. A visitation will follow at the family home.
Jack was born on December 25, 1944, in Kansas City, Kansas to James Harvey Brown and Helen Gentry Brown. He attended the University of Kansas where he was the starting kicker for the KU Jayhawks football team. He also received his law degree from the University of Kansas Law School. He joined the Army and served for six years in the Louisiana National Guard.
Jack was an attorney with the law firm of Casten and Pearce, and also for the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources. He was a member of the Louisiana Bar Association and the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
Jack was an avid golfer and played in many tournaments throughout the south. Jack cherished his family and will be fondly remembered for his humor, his love of life, and his steadfast support and encouragement to both his family and friends.
He  was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Pam; his son, Parker and daughter, Amanda, all of Shreveport; his brother, James H. Brown, Jr. and wife, Gladys, of Baton Rouge; his sister Madalyne Brown Hingle and husband, Jiff, of Belle Chasse; mother-in-law, Mrs. William H. Parker; and sister-in-law, Piper Parker, both of Shreveport; brother-in-law, Jann Parker, of Dallas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
