Glenn Beck ain’t no Founding Father

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I have this like-dislike relationship with Glenn Beck.   I liked the old Glenn who was not quite so edgy and calculating.  He used to be more funny, and irrelevant.  He still has his moments, so I was one of the handful in Baton Rouge who went to the local United Artists theater (cost $18 bucks) to see his “Common Sense Comedy Tour.”Â  It wasn’t bad, just Glen giving us some of his re runs, with lots of his scattershot philosophy.  Lots of doomsday talk, anti government regulation and too much in taxes.  We all agree, but Glenn relished in thinking these were all his ideas.  At least he didn’t cry (which he often does on his TV show).  The he comes out (after a 15 minute intermission so that some guy can hock Glenn’s new book), he’s dressed like a founding father, and more homilies.  No music, no one else on the stage.  I guess the solace was that it was really hot so I enjoyed the air conditioning. The video below kind of sums up Glenn’s act.  He needs to get some help next time.
