I’m in the North Carolina mountains, my second home, for the week. I hate to tell my friends back in Louisiana, where the temperature often is cracking 100, how cool it is here. 70s during the day. And can you believe? I build fires at night. I’m with my granddaughter and grandniece, so we tour around a lot as you can imagine.  We have to lock down the trash barrels at night because of the numerous bears that roam Grandfather Mountain. A number of panthers are in this mountain region also. Take a look at the video below if you want to see a stunning confrontation between a cougar and a young bear. It’s worth the short watch.
